Candidates should log in to the AFCAT portal for the exact objection deadline. Challenges submitted after the window closes or through offline channels are unlikely to be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

The qualification requirements vary by branch and must be verified from the detailed AFCAT 2 2026 notification.

  • Flying Branch: Candidates generally require at least 50% marks each in Mathematics and Physics at the Class 12 level, along with a recognised bachelor’s degree with the prescribed aggregate marks. Eligible BE/BTech degree holders may also apply.
  • Ground Duty (Technical): Applicants normally need Mathematics and Physics at the 10+2 level and a four-year engineering or technology degree in a notified discipline.
  • Ground Duty (Non-Technical): A recognised graduate degree is required for branches such as Administration and Logistics. Accounts, Education, Weapon Systems and Meteorology branches have discipline-specific requirements.
  • Candidates must satisfy the required percentage, degree recognition and final-year eligibility conditions stated in the official notification.

Age Limit

  • Flying Branch: Generally 20 to 24 years on the prescribed cut-off date.
  • Candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence may receive relaxation up to 26 years, subject to the notification.
  • Ground Duty Branches: Generally 20 to 26 years on the applicable cut-off date.
  • The precise date-of-birth range, marital-status conditions and relaxation rules must be checked in the AFCAT 2 2026 notice.

Fees

  • The AFCAT examination fee must be paid online at the rate specified in the detailed notification.
  • Candidates applying through NCC Special Entry are generally exempt from the AFCAT examination fee, subject to official rules.
  • If an answer-key objection fee applies, the amount will be displayed on the candidate login page before final submission.
  • Processing charges and applicable taxes may be added to online payments.

Selection Process

  1. AFCAT Online Examination: Applicants take the computer-based test covering General Awareness, English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Military Aptitude. Technical candidates may also have to appear for the Engineering Knowledge Test, where applicable.
  2. Air Force Selection Board Testing: Shortlisted candidates undergo document verification, psychological tests, group tasks and personal interview at an AFSB centre. Flying Branch candidates may additionally undergo the Computerised Pilot Selection System test.
  3. Medical Examination and Final Merit: Recommended candidates must meet Indian Air Force medical standards. Final selection is based on merit, medical fitness, branch preference, training vacancies and other eligibility conditions.

How to Apply

Candidates can use the following process to download the AFCAT 2 answer key and submit an objection:

  1. Visit the official AFCAT examination portal at afcat.cdac.in.
  2. Open the candidate login section and select the link for AFCAT 2 Answer Key 2026/Response Sheet.
  3. Enter the registered email address, password and captcha or other requested login credentials.
  4. Download the provisional answer key and response sheet, and save copies for future reference.
  5. Compare each recorded response with the answer displayed in the provisional key. Use the examination’s marking scheme to estimate the probable score.
  6. If an answer appears incorrect, select the relevant question and click the available objection or challenge option.
  7. Upload clear documentary evidence from an authoritative source. Unsupported objections may be rejected during review.
  8. Pay the objection fee, if prescribed, and submit the challenge before the closing date.
  9. Download the acknowledgement or payment receipt. Candidates should also retain screenshots of the submitted objections until the final result is announced.
