  • PGT: Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with B.Ed or another qualification prescribed by BPSC and the Bihar Education Department.
  • Degrees, diplomas and teacher-training certificates must be issued by recognised institutions.

  • The expected minimum age is 18 years for primary-level posts and 21 years for certain secondary or higher-secondary posts.
  • The general upper age limit is generally 37 years for male candidates under Bihar government recruitment rules.
  • Relaxation may apply to women, BC/EBC, SC/ST, persons with benchmark disabilities and other eligible categories.
  • The exact cut-off date and post-wise age requirements will be specified in the TRE 4.0 notification.

  • Bank or payment-gateway charges may be applicable in addition to the prescribed fee.
  • Applicants should retain the electronic receipt until the recruitment process is completed.

Selection Process

  1. Written Examination: Candidates will take an objective examination covering language proficiency, general studies and the relevant teaching subject. The expected syllabus includes Hindi/English or another prescribed language, elementary mathematics, reasoning, general science, social studies, geography, environment, current affairs and the Indian national movement. Subject questions for TGT and PGT posts will be based on the discipline selected in the application, with the difficulty level varying by post.
  2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will have to produce educational certificates, teacher-training credentials, eligibility-test certificates, caste or category documents, domicile proof and identity records. A candidature may be cancelled if original documents do not support the details entered online.
  3. Final Merit and Appointment Formalities: BPSC will prepare the result or merit list using the notified written-examination criteria. Selected candidates may also have to complete medical, identity and departmental verification before appointment.

The final PDF will confirm the marks distribution, qualifying language component, minimum qualifying marks and negative-marking rule. Candidates should not assume that a penalty for incorrect answers applies unless it is expressly mentioned in the examination instructions.
