Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates applying for the Sub-Inspector posts must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
- For the Havildar Clerk post, candidates must have passed the Intermediate or Class 12 examination, subject to the conditions in the relevant advertisement.
- Only candidates who cleared the applicable written examination or previous recruitment stage are eligible to attend the PET.
- Original educational certificates and supporting documents must be produced during verification when instructed.
Age Limit
- The minimum age generally ranges from 18 to 20 years, depending on the post.
- The upper age limit varies according to the post, gender and reservation category.
- Relaxation is available to BC, EBC, SC, ST, women and other eligible categories under Bihar government rules.
- Candidates should check the relevant advertisement for the applicable cut-off date and post-wise age limits.
Fees
- The application fee was ₹100, subject to the conditions of the respective recruitment advertisement.
- Bank or online payment processing charges may have applied separately.

Selection Process
- Written Examination: Candidates must qualify in the preliminary/main written examination or the prescribed written test for their post.
- Physical Test: Shortlisted candidates must appear for the Physical Efficiency Test and, where applicable, physical measurement assessment. Events may include running, high jump, long jump and shot put.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination: Candidates clearing the physical stage will undergo verification of original records and the prescribed medical fitness examination before final selection.
PET events are qualifying in nature unless the relevant advertisement states otherwise. Failure to meet any prescribed physical standard may lead to disqualification.

The recruitment application process has closed. Eligible candidates can download the BPSSC PET admit card by following these steps:
- Visit the official BPSSC website at bpssc.bihar.gov.in.
- Open the relevant section for Advertisement No. 05/2025, 01/2026 or 02/2026.
- Click the link for the PET Admit Card 2026.
- Enter the registration ID, mobile number or other requested login credentials along with the date of birth.
- Submit the details and verify the candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, PET date, reporting time and test venue.
- Download the admit card and print at least two clear copies for the examination day.
- Carry the printed admit card, a valid photo identity document and all certificates listed in the PET notice.
Candidates should bring original documents and self-attested photocopies of educational certificates, caste or category certificates, residence certificate, date-of-birth proof and valid photo ID, wherever applicable.
If the admit card cannot be downloaded, the candidate should immediately use the duplicate admit card facility or contact the BPSSC office within the period specified in the official notice. Registration details, application acknowledgement and valid identity proof may be required to obtain a duplicate copy.
