Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- For CLAT UG 2027, candidates must have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination with at least 45% marks.
- The minimum qualifying mark for candidates belonging to SC and ST categories is 40%.
- Students appearing in the Class 12 examination in 2027 may also apply, subject to producing proof of qualification within the prescribed timeline.
- For CLAT PG 2027, applicants must hold an LL.B. degree or an equivalent law qualification with at least 50% marks.
- SC and ST candidates applying for the PG programme require a minimum of 45% marks.
- Final-year LL.B. students may apply provisionally but must meet the admission and document-submission conditions specified by the consortium.
Age Limit
- There is no upper age limit for CLAT UG applicants.
- No upper age restriction applies to CLAT PG candidates.
- Applicants must nevertheless satisfy the academic and admission rules of the participating National Law Universities.
Fees
- General, OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO and OCI applicants: Rs. 4,000.
- SC, ST and BPL applicants: Rs. 3,500.
- Previous years’ question papers may be available for an additional charge of Rs. 500.
- The fee must be paid online through the available payment gateway. Applicable bank or transaction charges may be added separately.
- The application fee is generally non-refundable once paid.
Selection Process
- Common Law Admission Test: Registered candidates will appear for the offline, pen-and-paper entrance examination. The paper is expected to contain 120 multiple-choice questions to be attempted in two hours, with negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer.
- Merit List and Rank: Scores will be used to prepare the CLAT 2027 merit list and all-India ranks. Candidates may also receive category-specific ranks based on the information submitted in the application.
- Counselling and Seat Allotment: Qualified candidates must register for centralised counselling, provide NLU preferences, pay the required counselling fee and complete document verification before admission is confirmed.
How to Apply
- Visit the official portal at consortiumofnlus.ac.in and open the CLAT 2027 registration link.
- Select New Registration and enter an active mobile number, email address and other requested details. Verify the account using the OTP or confirmation link received.
- Log in with the generated credentials and choose the relevant programme—CLAT UG or CLAT PG.
- Enter personal information, communication details, category, educational qualifications and reservation claims carefully. The details should match the candidate’s certificates.
- Choose preferred examination centres in the order requested. Centre allotment will depend on availability and administrative requirements.
- Upload a recent passport-size photograph, signature and category, PwD, BPL or other supporting certificates, wherever applicable. Files must comply with the specified format and size.
- Review every entry before submission, particularly the candidate’s name, date of birth, category, programme and contact information.
- Pay the application fee using a debit card, credit card, net banking or another available online payment method.
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page. Candidates should retain a copy of the application form and payment receipt until the admission process is completed.
