  • Candidates appearing for PET and PST should carry original documents if instructed on the admit card or through a subsequent HPPSC notice.

Age Limit

  • The general age range is expected to be 18 to 26 years, subject to the cut-off date prescribed in the recruitment notification.
  • Upper-age relaxation is applicable to eligible SC, ST, OBC, Home Guard and other reserved-category candidates under Himachal Pradesh government rules.
  • The date of birth recorded in the matriculation certificate will generally be considered for age verification.
  • Candidates should consult the official notification for category-specific age limits and relaxation provisions.

  • Candidates should verify the exact category-wise fee in the official recruitment notification.

Selection Process

  1. Physical Standard and Efficiency Tests: Candidates must meet the prescribed height, chest and other physical standards before completing events such as running, high jump or broad jump, as applicable. PET and PST are usually qualifying in nature.
  2. Written Examination: Candidates qualifying in the physical stage will be considered for the written test. The examination will assess subjects and abilities listed in the official syllabus.
  3. Document Verification and Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates will undergo verification of educational, category, domicile and identity documents, followed by a medical fitness examination before final appointment.

Candidates must qualify at every applicable stage. Participation in PET or PST does not create an automatic right to selection or appointment.
