Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed the required engineering degree course or must be studying in the final year of an eligible engineering programme.
- Final-year students must be able to submit proof of passing the engineering degree, including mark sheets for all semesters or years, by the deadline prescribed by the Indian Army.
- Applicants must hold a degree in a notified engineering stream, such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Architecture or another equivalent discipline listed in the official notification.
- The engineering stream entered in the application must match the nomenclature shown on the candidate’s degree or provisional certificate.
- Only candidates who meet the applicable nationality, marital-status and educational conditions should apply.
Age Limit
- The general age requirement for SSC Tech entry is 20 to 27 years on the cut-off date specified in the notification.
- The precise date-of-birth range will be determined using the matriculation or secondary school certificate.
- Candidates should verify the official notification for the applicable cut-off date and any category-specific provisions.
- Requests to alter the recorded date of birth after submission are not normally accepted.
Fees
- No application fee is generally charged for Indian Army SSC Tech recruitment.
- Candidates may still have to bear personal expenses connected with obtaining documents, photographs or internet services.
- No payment should be made through unofficial websites, agents or intermediaries.
Selection Process
- Application shortlisting: The Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Army) will shortlist applicants using engineering-stream-wise cut-off marks. Merely meeting the minimum eligibility conditions does not guarantee an SSB call-up.
- SSB interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo the two-stage Services Selection Board procedure, including psychological tests, group testing officer tasks and a personal interview. Candidates who fail Stage I will be released on the same day.
- Medical examination and merit list: SSB-recommended candidates must meet the prescribed medical standards. The final merit list will be prepared using SSB marks, subject to medical fitness, vacancy availability and fulfilment of all eligibility requirements.
There is no separate written examination for this entry. Candidates should therefore prepare carefully for the SSB assessment and ensure that their academic details are entered accurately.
