Overview

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has officially released the IOB Apprentice Admit Card 2026 for the recruitment of apprentices under the Apprentice Act, 1961. Candidates who have applied for these positions can now download their hall tickets from the official website iob.bank.in using their registration number and date of birth. The admit card is a mandatory document for entry into the examination hall, and no candidate will be permitted to appear without it.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must hold a Graduate degree from a recognized university or institution.
  • Candidates who have completed a degree through correspondence or distance education are also eligible, provided the university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
  • Candidates should not have completed or be pursuing an apprenticeship earlier under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for a duration exceeding the prescribed limit.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 28 years
  • Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, and 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates as per government norms.
  • Cut-off Date: Age will be calculated as of 01 January 2026.

Application Fees

  • General / OBC / EWS: ₹400 (including GST)
  • SC / ST / PwD / Women: ₹150 (including GST)
  • Payment is accepted through online modes such as Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, and Mobile Wallets.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the IOB Apprentice 2026 will be carried out in three stages:

  1. Online Written Examination – A computer-based test comprising objective-type questions on Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and General/Financial Awareness. The exam carries a total of 100 marks.
  2. Local Language Test (Qualifying Only) – Candidates must pass a test of the local language (as applicable to the state where the candidate has applied). This test is qualifying in nature and does not carry any marks.
  3. Document Verification & Medical Examination – Shortlisted candidates from the written test will be called for verification of original documents and a medical fitness check before final appointment.

Candidates are advised to prepare comprehensively for the online exam, as the final merit list will be prepared based on performance in the written test only.

Follow these simple steps to download your IOB Apprentice Hall Ticket 2026:

  1. Visit the Official Website – Go to the official IOB careers portal at www.iob.bank.in or use the direct link provided on the recruitment page.
  2. Navigate to the Careers Section – Click on the "Careers" or "Recruitment" tab available on the homepage.
  3. Find the Admit Card Link – Look for the link titled "Download Admit Card for Apprentice Recruitment 2026" and click on it.
  4. Enter Your Credentials – Key in your Registration Number and Date of Birth/Password as provided during the application process.
  5. Download and Print – Your admit card will appear on the screen. Download the PDF and take 2-3 clear printouts for use on the exam day and subsequent stages.

FAQs

1. What documents should I carry along with the IOB Apprentice Admit Card 2026?

Carry a valid government photo ID (such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Passport) along with two recent passport-size photographs. The photo on the admit card and the ID must match your physical appearance on the exam day.

2. Can I change my exam centre after receiving the admit card?

No. Once the admit card is generated, the exam centre cannot be changed under any circumstances. Candidates must report to the allotted centre at least 60 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on the hall ticket.

3. Is there a negative marking in the IOB Apprentice online exam?

Yes, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer in the online written examination. There is no deduction for unattempted questions.
