Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates are generally required to hold a master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognised university.
  • A BEd degree is normally required, subject to the exemptions and subject-specific conditions prescribed in the detailed KSET notification.
  • Candidates holding approved qualifications such as MSc Ed or other equivalent teacher-education credentials may be eligible for specified subjects.
  • Applicants awaiting final qualifying results may be permitted provisionally, provided they satisfy the required conditions within the stipulated period.
  • Eligibility must be checked against the subject-wise rules in the official notification. Issuance of a hall ticket does not by itself confirm final eligibility.

Age Limit

  • There is generally no upper age limit for appearing in the Kerala State Eligibility Test.
  • Candidates of any eligible age may take the examination if they meet the academic requirements.
  • KSET qualification does not automatically guarantee appointment to a teaching post.

Fees

  • No separate fee is required to download the KSET Hall Ticket 2026.
  • The examination fee would have been paid during online registration.
  • Application fee amounts, category concessions and payment conditions should be verified from the relevant session’s official notification.
  • Fees already paid are generally non-refundable unless otherwise stated by the examination authority.

Selection Process

KSET is a qualifying examination rather than a direct recruitment test. The assessment process generally includes:

  1. Paper I: A common paper assessing teaching aptitude, reasoning ability, general knowledge and related competencies.
  2. Paper II: A subject-specific paper based on the candidate’s chosen postgraduate subject.
  3. Result and eligibility verification: Candidates must secure the prescribed qualifying standard and produce valid academic and category documents when required.

Candidates should read the question-paper instructions carefully for details about duration, marking rules and permitted materials.

How to Apply
