Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants were required to satisfy the prescribed qualification by the relevant application closing date.

  • Candidates must have passed PUC, Class 12, 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or institution.
  • Equivalent qualifications must be supported by valid certificates issued by the competent authority.
  • Applicants must also meet the physical, medical and Kannada-language requirements specified in the recruitment rules.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age for applying was generally 18 years.
  • The upper age limit for General Merit candidates was generally 25 years.
  • Candidates belonging to eligible SC, ST, Category-I and other reserved categories received upper-age relaxation under Karnataka government rules, generally up to 27 years.
  • Eligible tribal candidates could receive relaxation up to the prescribed maximum limit, generally 30 years.
  • Ex-servicemen and other special categories were eligible for relaxation as provided in the official notification.

Age eligibility must be verified against the cadre-specific notification because cut-off dates and relaxations may differ.

Fees

  • General Merit, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B candidates: Rs. 250.
  • SC, ST and Category-I candidates: Rs. 100.
  • Applicable bank, postal or online transaction charges may have been payable separately.
  • Fees once deposited were generally non-refundable, subject to the recruitment conditions.

  1. Written Examination: Applicants appear for an objective written test covering the subjects and standard prescribed by KSP. The released scorecard allows candidates to review their marks and provisional status.
  2. Physical Tests: Shortlisted candidates undergo the Physical Standard Test and Endurance Test. Height, chest measurements, running and other notified physical events are checked at this stage.
  3. Document Verification and Medical Examination: Candidates clearing the earlier stages must produce original educational, identity, caste, reservation and eligibility documents. Final selection remains subject to medical fitness, character verification, vacancy position and approval by the appointing authority.
