Eligibility differs depending on the post selected by the candidate. The broad requirements include:

  • Teaching posts: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the relevant subject, along with B.Ed or another prescribed teacher-training qualification.
  • Primary Teacher posts: Senior secondary qualification with the required diploma or degree in elementary education and valid CTET qualification, where applicable.
  • Principal and Vice-Principal posts: Postgraduate degree, B.Ed and the prescribed teaching or administrative experience.
  • Administrative and non-teaching posts: Qualification may range from Class 10 or Class 12 to graduation, depending on the position.
  • Candidates must also meet subject-combination, experience and professional qualification requirements stated for their respective posts.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age requirement is generally 18 years for entry-level non-teaching positions.
  • The upper age limit varies by post and may extend up to 50 years for senior administrative positions.
  • Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories under Central Government rules.
  • The relevant cut-off date mentioned in the recruitment notification is used to calculate age.

Fees

  • The application fee was determined by the post applied for and the candidate’s category.
  • Higher-level administrative and teaching posts carried a higher examination fee than clerical or support posts.
  • SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates were eligible for examination-fee concessions as prescribed.
  • Processing charges, wherever applicable, were payable separately through the online payment facility.

Selection Process

The recruitment selection procedure generally consists of the following stages:

  1. Tier 1 Examination: A preliminary computer-based or OMR-based test used to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
  2. Tier 2 Examination: A post-specific written examination assessing subject knowledge and professional competency.
  3. Interview, skill test and document verification: Conducted where applicable, followed by preparation of the final merit list and medical or eligibility checks.

Merely qualifying in Tier 2 does not automatically guarantee appointment. Final selection will depend on post-wise cut-offs, category, vacancies and performance in all applicable stages.
