Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institution for most Group C posts.
  • Candidates applying for Industry Inspector, Technical Assistant or another specialised position may need the relevant technical degree, diploma or subject-specific qualification prescribed for that post.
  • Clerk-Typist and Tax Assistant applicants may also be required to meet Marathi and/or English typing-speed standards.
  • Knowledge of the Marathi language is required as per applicable Maharashtra government recruitment rules.
  • Candidates must have completed the prescribed qualification by the eligibility cut-off date mentioned in the detailed recruitment notification.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age is generally 18 or 19 years, depending on the post.
  • The upper age limit for open-category candidates is generally 38 years.
  • Reserved-category candidates from Maharashtra are eligible for upper-age relaxation under state government rules.
  • Additional relaxation may apply to persons with benchmark disabilities, ex-servicemen, sportspersons and other notified categories.
  • The exact age must be calculated on the cut-off date stated in the notification.

Fees

  • Open-category candidates: Approximately ₹394 for the preliminary stage.
  • Reserved-category, EWS and eligible orphan candidates: Approximately ₹294.
  • Main examination or post-specific fees may be payable separately by shortlisted candidates.
  • Payment should be made through the online options provided in the MPSC application portal. Candidates should verify the final fee applicable to their category before payment.

Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Examination: Eligible applicants will appear for the common objective-type screening examination on the revised date.
  2. Main Examination and Skill Test: Candidates qualifying in the preliminary stage will be called for the relevant main examination. Typing or other skill tests will be conducted where required by the post.
  3. Document Verification and Final Selection: Shortlisted candidates must produce original educational, category, age and identity documents before the final merit list is prepared.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official MPSC website at mpsc.gov.in and open the online application portal.
  2. Complete the one-time registration process using an active mobile number and email address. Candidates who are already registered should sign in with their credentials.
  3. Select the relevant MPSC Group C Services Examination application link from the active advertisements section.
  4. Enter personal, educational, category and communication details carefully. Choose the eligible post preferences and examination centre, where applicable.
  5. Upload a recent photograph, signature and supporting documents in the prescribed format and file size.
  6. Pay the application fee through the available online payment facility and submit the form.
  7. Download the confirmation page and payment receipt for future reference. The application window has closed, so registered candidates should now monitor the website for the revised exam date and admit card notice.
  8. Once released, download a fresh admit card and check the examination centre, shift, reporting time and candidate instructions. An older admit card should not be relied upon unless MPSC specifically confirms its validity.
