Overview

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the City Intimation Slip 2026 for candidates appearing in the recruitment examination for Junior Assistant, Stenographer and other posts. The recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 34 vacancies across administrative, accounts, technical, legal and medical positions. Registered candidates can check their allotted examination city through the candidate login facility at natboard.edu.in.

The city intimation slip provides advance information about the examination city and is not a substitute for the admit card. Candidates must download the separate admission ticket when it is issued.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Eligibility differs according to the post selected by the applicant:

  • Junior Assistant: Candidates should have passed the Senior Secondary or Class 12 examination from a recognised board and possess basic computer proficiency.
  • Stenographer: Class 12 or an equivalent qualification is generally required, along with the prescribed shorthand and typing skills.
  • Junior Accountant: Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree with Mathematics, Statistics or Commerce as a subject from a recognised institution.
  • Junior Programmer: A degree or recognised qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications or a related discipline is required.
  • Law Officer: Candidates must possess a recognised law degree and any experience prescribed in the detailed notification.
  • Deputy Director: Applicants must hold the applicable postgraduate medical qualification and fulfil the professional experience requirements.
  • Candidates must produce original educational, category and experience certificates during document verification.

Age Limit

  • The upper age limit for Junior Assistant, Stenographer, Junior Accountant and Junior Programmer posts is generally 27 years.
  • Higher age limits may apply to Law Officer, Deputy Director and other specialised positions.
  • Age relaxation is applicable to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories under Central Government rules.
  • The cut-off date for calculating age will be the date stated in the detailed recruitment notification.

Fees

  • General and OBC candidates: ₹1,500 plus applicable GST, subject to confirmation in the detailed notice.
  • SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates: Exemption may apply under the recruitment rules.
  • Any applicable fee must be paid online using a debit card, credit card, net banking or another available payment method.
  • The application fee is normally non-refundable after successful submission.

Selection Process

  1. Computer-Based Test or written examination: Eligible candidates will be tested on subjects prescribed for the relevant post, including reasoning, language, general awareness, quantitative aptitude or professional knowledge.
  2. Skill test or interview: Stenographer and clerical candidates may undergo typing or shorthand tests, while candidates for senior and specialist posts may be called for an interview.
  3. Document verification and final selection: Shortlisted applicants must submit original certificates. Appointment will remain subject to eligibility verification and medical fitness requirements.

  1. Visit the official NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in and open the recruitment or vacancies section.
  2. Select the relevant recruitment notice for Junior Assistant, Stenographer and other posts, then read the instructions carefully.
  3. Complete the online registration using an active mobile number and email address. Enter personal, educational and category information accurately.
  4. Upload the prescribed photograph, signature and supporting documents in the required format and size.
  5. Pay the applicable application fee online, submit the form and retain a printed copy of the confirmation page.
  6. To access the City Intimation Slip 2026, open the relevant login link and enter the application number, user ID, password or date of birth, as requested.
  7. Download the slip and check the examination city, candidate details and reporting instructions. Any discrepancy should be reported to NBEMS promptly.
  8. Download the admit card separately when released, as entry to the examination centre will not be permitted solely on the basis of the city slip.
