Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- For posts in Level 1, candidates should generally have passed Class 10, ITI or an equivalent recognized qualification, as applicable to the post.
- For posts in Level 2 and Level 3, applicants are generally required to have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination. Additional requirements such as typing proficiency may apply to clerical categories.
- For posts in Level 4 and Level 5, candidates must possess a graduate degree from a recognized university or institution.
- Applicants must also meet the prescribed sports achievement standards in the relevant discipline, such as representation or performance at recognized international, national, state or inter-university competitions.
- Educational and sports certificates must have been valid and issued by competent authorities within the period specified in the recruitment notification.
Age Limit
- The prescribed age range is generally 18 to 25 years as of January 1, 2026.
- Candidates must have been born within the dates specified in the detailed notification.
- No upper-age relaxation is ordinarily provided for sports quota recruitment unless specifically permitted by Railway Board rules.
- The date of birth recorded in the matriculation or equivalent certificate will be treated as final.
Fees
- General category candidates were required to pay an application fee of Rs 500, with the refundable portion subject to appearance in the sports trial and applicable deductions.
- SC, ST, women, ex-servicemen, persons with benchmark disabilities, minorities and eligible economically backward class candidates were generally charged Rs 250.

Selection Process
