Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess a full-time bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline from a recognized university or institution.
- The required disciplines generally include Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Civil and Mining Engineering, subject to the vacancy notified for each branch.
- General, EWS and OBC candidates should have secured at least 65% marks in the qualifying degree.
- SC, ST and PwBD applicants are generally required to obtain at least 55% marks, in line with the applicable recruitment conditions.
- Candidates must have appeared in GATE 2024 in the paper corresponding to their qualifying engineering discipline.
- Applicants awaiting final results must satisfy the qualification requirements within the date specified in the detailed notification.
Age Limit
- The upper age limit for general-category candidates is 27 years as of the prescribed cut-off date.
- The upper age limit is relaxed by five years for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC-NCL candidates.
- PwBD candidates may receive age relaxation as permitted under central government guidelines.
- Relaxation for ex-servicemen and other eligible categories will be applicable under the prevailing rules.
Fees
- General, EWS and OBC male candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹300.
- SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen and female candidates are exempt from paying the application fee.
- Applicable bank or transaction charges, if any, must be borne by the applicant.
- The fee should be paid only through an authorized payment method mentioned on the recruitment portal.
Selection Process
- GATE 2024 Score: Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the relevant GATE 2024 paper and the recruitment criteria fixed by NTPC.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted applicants will be required to produce original educational certificates, category documents, GATE scorecard, identity proof and other supporting records.
