  • For Hindi Officer posts, candidates must hold the prescribed postgraduate qualification in Hindi or English, with the other language studied as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent qualification specified by OICL.
  • Candidates must have possessed the required qualification by the eligibility cutoff date mentioned in the recruitment notification.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 21 years.
  • Maximum age: 30 years.
  • Age is calculated as of the date specified in the detailed notification.
  • Upper-age relaxation is generally available to reserved categories, including five years for SC/ST, three years for OBC-NCL and 10 years for PwBD candidates, subject to applicable rules.

Fees

  • SC, ST and PwBD candidates: ₹250 plus applicable taxes.
  • All other candidates: ₹1,000 plus applicable taxes.
  • Bank transaction or payment gateway charges, where applicable, must be paid separately.
  • Application fees are normally non-refundable once successfully submitted.

Selection Process

  1. Phase 1 Preliminary Examination: An online screening test covering English language, reasoning ability and quantitative aptitude. Candidates must clear the prescribed sectional and overall cutoffs.
  2. Phase 2 Main Examination: Shortlisted candidates appear for an objective test and descriptive paper. The paper structure may vary between Generalist and Hindi Officer posts.
  3. Interview and Final Selection: Candidates qualifying in the main examination are called for an interview. Final merit is prepared using the applicable weightage of the main examination and interview, followed by document verification and medical requirements.

The Phase 1 cutoff is used to shortlist candidates for the main examination. Phase 2 cutoff marks determine eligibility for the interview, while final selection depends on the combined merit criteria prescribed by OICL.
