Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institution.
- Degrees recognised as equivalent by the competent authority are also acceptable.
- Applicants must be able to read, write and speak Odia.
- Candidates should have passed Odia as a language subject in the Middle School Examination, Class 10 or an equivalent examination, as prescribed in the recruitment rules.
- Eligibility remains provisional until the commission verifies original educational and other supporting documents.
Age Limit
- The minimum age prescribed for the examination is generally 21 years.
- The upper age limit is 38 years, calculated with reference to the cut-off date specified in the detailed notification.
- Relaxation in the upper age limit applies to candidates belonging to SC, ST, SEBC, women, persons with disabilities and other eligible categories under Odisha government rules.
- Candidates appearing for the Mains examination may be required to submit proof of age and category during document verification.
Fees
- Candidates were not required to pay an examination fee under the applicable Odisha government fee-exemption provisions.

Selection Process
The OPSC Civil Services selection procedure consists of three stages:

- Main Examination: Qualified candidates must appear for the written Mains papers. Admission remains provisional and is subject to fulfilment of all eligibility conditions.
