Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates were required to meet the educational conditions specified in the detailed recruitment advertisement. The principal requirements generally include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture with the prescribed minimum marks from a recognised university or institution.
  • A Master’s degree in Horticulture from a recognised university or institution, as stipulated in the advertisement.
  • Knowledge of the Punjabi language at the Matriculation level or an equivalent standard.
  • Candidates must produce original degree certificates, mark sheets and Punjabi qualification documents during verification.

Age Limit

  • The general age range prescribed for Punjab government recruitment is typically 18 to 37 years as of the relevant cut-off date.
  • Upper-age relaxation applies to eligible Scheduled Caste, Backward Class, government employee, ex-serviceman, widow, divorcee and person with disability categories.

Fees

  • General and other state candidates: ₹1,500, subject to the original notification.
  • SC/ST candidates and Backward Classes of Punjab: ₹750.
  • Punjab ex-servicemen, EWS, persons with disabilities and other eligible categories: ₹500, where applicable.
  • No separate fee is normally required for attending the interview. The application and examination fee paid during registration is not refundable.

Selection Process

  1. Written Competitive Examination: Eligible applicants are assessed through the examination conducted under the notified recruitment procedure.
  2. Interview: Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the applicable criteria must appear for the interview between September 17 and September 28, 2026.
  3. Document Verification and Final Merit: Original documents are checked before the final selection list is prepared using the marks and rules prescribed by PPSC.

Candidates appearing for the interview should carry the completed Biodata Sheet, interview call letter, recent photographs and original supporting certificates. They should also bring self-attested photocopies of proof of date of birth, educational qualifications, Punjabi language eligibility, category, residence and identity. Government employees may be asked to produce a No Objection Certificate.
