Selection Process
- Computer-Based Tests: Candidates must clear CBT 1 followed by CBT 2. CBT 2 consists of Part A and the qualifying Part B. The usual negative-marking rule provides for a deduction of one-third mark for each incorrect answer.
- Computer-Based Aptitude Test: Candidates shortlisted from CBT 2 must appear for the CBAT. There is normally no negative marking in this stage, and candidates must meet the prescribed qualifying standard in each test battery.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination: Final shortlisting is followed by verification of original documents and the mandatory railway medical fitness examination applicable to the ALP post.
The CBT 2 answer key will help candidates calculate a tentative score. They should award marks for correct responses and deduct one-third of the allotted marks for each wrong response in the sections where negative marking applies. Part B is qualifying in nature and must be cleared as specified by the RRB.
