Candidates should note that result publication and subsequent schedules may differ between railway zones. The date printed on the notice issued by the candidate’s regional RRB will be treated as final.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Applicants were required to satisfy one of the following qualification combinations:
- Class 10 or Matriculation pass with an ITI certificate from an institution recognised by NCVT or SCVT in a notified trade.
- Class 10 pass with a completed Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in a relevant trade.
- Class 10 pass with a diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Automobile Engineering from a recognised institution.
- A degree in the relevant engineering discipline was also accepted where permitted under the detailed notification.
- Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification by the eligibility cutoff date specified in CEN 01/2025.
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Maximum age: 30 years, subject to the cutoff date in the notification.
- Age relaxation applies to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, ex-servicemen, persons with benchmark disabilities and other eligible categories under government rules.
- Date-of-birth details must match the candidate’s Matriculation or equivalent certificate.
Fees
- General, OBC and EWS candidates: ₹500.
- SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen, female, transgender, minority and economically backward class candidates: ₹250.
- The applicable portion of the examination fee is refundable after appearing in the first-stage CBT, subject to deduction of bank charges and fulfilment of RRB conditions.
Selection Process
- Computer-Based Tests: Candidates first appear for CBT-I, followed by CBT-II. The second-stage examination includes Part A and the trade-related Part B, with Part B being qualifying in nature under the prescribed rules.
- Computer-Based Aptitude Test: Candidates shortlisted from CBT-II are called for the CBAT. This stage applies to Assistant Loco Pilot recruitment, and candidates must meet the qualifying standard in each test battery. Negative marking is generally not applied in CBAT.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination: Candidates qualifying in CBAT are considered for document verification. Final appointment is subject to verification of original certificates, prescribed railway medical fitness, eyesight standards and vacancy availability.
The CBT-II result PDF does not by itself guarantee appointment. Shortlisting remains provisional until all eligibility, identity, document and medical requirements are successfully verified.
