The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have started releasing the RRB Group D Admit Card 2026 in phases from July 31, 2026, for the Computer-Based Test scheduled during August. The recruitment drive under CEN 09/2025 aims to fill approximately 22,000 Level 1 vacancies across various zones of Indian Railways.

Candidates can download their e-call letters from the official RRB portal using their registration number and date of birth or password. Admit cards are generally issued a few days before the candidate’s allotted examination date.

Candidates should rely on the examination date, shift and reporting time printed on their individual admit card. The city intimation slip is not a substitute for the e-call letter and will not permit entry to the examination centre.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
  • Applicants possessing an ITI certificate from an institution recognised by NCVT or SCVT may also be eligible for relevant Level 1 posts.
  • A National Apprenticeship Certificate, where accepted under the detailed notification, may also satisfy the qualification requirement.
  • The prescribed qualification must have been obtained by the eligibility cut-off date mentioned in CEN 09/2025.

Age Limit

  • The general age range is expected to be 18 to 33 years, calculated on the cut-off date specified in the notification.
  • Upper-age relaxation applies to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories under Central Government rules.
  • Candidates must produce valid supporting certificates during document verification to claim relaxation.

Fees

  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹500, with the applicable refundable portion returned after appearing in the CBT.
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-servicemen/Female/Transgender/Minority/Economically Backward Class: ₹250, refundable subject to appearing in the CBT.
  • Bank or payment gateway charges may be deducted from the refundable amount.

Selection Process

  1. Computer-Based Test: Candidates will answer objective questions covering mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning, general science, and general awareness/current affairs. Negative marking may apply as stated in the notification.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test: Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CBT performance must meet the prescribed running and weight-carrying standards. Standards vary by category and gender.
  3. Document Verification and Medical Examination: PET-qualified candidates will undergo certificate verification and a railway medical fitness test before final appointment.

How to Apply

The application process has closed, but registered candidates can download the RRB Group D admit card by following these steps:

  1. Visit rrbapply.gov.in or the official website of the regional RRB selected during registration.
  2. Open the link titled “CEN 09/2025 Group D E-Call Letter” or “RRB Group D Admit Card 2026.”
  3. Enter the registration number and date of birth or password in the login window.
  4. Complete the security code or CAPTCHA and select the login option.
  5. Check the candidate’s name, roll number, examination date, shift, reporting time and test-centre address.
  6. Download the admit card PDF and print a clear copy on A4 paper.
  7. Carry the printed e-call letter, an original valid photo identity document and any photograph or self-declaration required in the admit-card instructions.
  8. Reach the centre before the reporting deadline. Electronic devices, calculators, study material and prohibited items should not be carried.

Candidates facing a login problem should verify that the details match their application form. They should also try the correct regional RRB portal and use the password-recovery facility where available.

Salary & Benefits

Selected candidates will be appointed to Level 1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix, with an initial basic pay of ₹18,000 per month. The total monthly remuneration may also include dearness allowance, house rent allowance, transport allowance and other railway benefits, depending on the place of posting and applicable rules.
