Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
  • Applicants should have studied the prescribed subjects, generally including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, or an approved vocational combination.
  • General-category candidates are ordinarily required to secure at least 45% aggregate marks in the prescribed subjects.
  • Candidates belonging to eligible reserved categories of Tamil Nadu are generally required to obtain at least 40% aggregate marks, subject to the official admission rules.
  • Applicants must satisfy Tamil Nadu nativity, schooling or other eligibility conditions applicable to their category.
  • Admission will remain provisional until the allotted institution verifies original educational, community, nativity and special-category documents.

Age Limit

  • There is generally no standard upper age limit for most undergraduate engineering programmes under TNEA.
  • Candidates applying for courses such as Marine Engineering must fulfil any separate age, medical and physical fitness requirements.
  • Course-specific conditions prescribed by the university, institution or regulatory authority will apply.

Fees
