Overview
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the UGC NET June 2026 re-examination notice and activated the hall ticket download facility for eligible candidates. The examination determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD programmes; therefore, no fixed number of posts or vacancies is attached to the test. Candidates scheduled for the re-exam should download their admit cards from the official portal and verify the reporting time, examination centre and subject details.

- Candidates belonging to eligible reserved categories are generally given relaxation in qualifying marks, subject to the June 2026 information bulletin.
- Applicants qualifying through a four-year bachelor’s degree route may be considered for the permitted UGC NET categories under the applicable UGC rules.
- Candidates awaiting their final qualifying examination result may be provisionally eligible, provided they satisfy the prescribed conditions within the stipulated period.
Age Limit
- For Junior Research Fellowship, the upper age limit will be the limit prescribed in the UGC NET June 2026 bulletin.
- Relaxation is generally available to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD, women and other eligible candidates under applicable rules.
- There is usually no upper age limit for Assistant Professor eligibility.
- Candidates should check the cut-off date and category-specific relaxation stated in the official notification.
Fees
- No separate fee is normally charged for downloading the re-exam admit card.
- Candidates who have already registered for the June 2026 examination are not required to pay the application fee again merely because a re-examination has been scheduled.
- Category-wise examination fees, where applicable, are governed by the original June 2026 information bulletin.
Selection Process
- Computer-Based Test: Candidates appear for Paper I and the selected subject paper in computer-based mode, as specified by NTA.
- Answer-Key and Result Evaluation: Recorded responses are evaluated after the provisional answer-key challenge process, wherever applicable.
- Qualification and Certification: Candidates meeting the prescribed subject-wise and category-wise cut-offs are declared eligible for JRF, Assistant Professor or the applicable PhD admission category.
UGC NET qualification does not itself amount to direct recruitment. Universities, colleges and research institutions conduct their own recruitment or admission processes under the relevant rules.
