Overview

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the CAPF Assistant Commandant Result 2026 for candidates who appeared in the Physical Standards Test and Physical Efficiency Test (PST/PET). The qualified-candidates list has been issued for the recruitment of 357 Assistant Commandants in the Central Armed Police Forces, including BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB.

Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the result PDF will be considered for the subsequent stages of the selection process. The PST/PET result is not the final appointment list, and shortlisted candidates must continue to meet the prescribed medical and eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a university established by an Act of the Central or State Legislature or another recognised educational institution.
  • An equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government is also acceptable.
  • Candidates who were awaiting their qualifying examination result could apply provisionally, subject to producing proof of passing within the prescribed period.
  • The degree and other eligibility documents will be checked during document verification or the interview stage.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age prescribed for the examination is 20 years.
  • The upper age limit is 25 years, calculated on the cut-off date mentioned in the recruitment notification.
  • SC and ST candidates are eligible for an upper-age relaxation of up to five years.
  • OBC candidates may receive up to three years of relaxation.
  • Relaxation for eligible government employees, ex-servicemen and other categories will apply under Central Government rules.

Fees

  • General, OBC and EWS male candidates: ₹200.
  • Female candidates: No application fee.
  • SC and ST candidates: No application fee.
  • The examination fee was payable through the online payment facilities specified during registration.

Selection Process

  1. Written Examination: Applicants first appear in the UPSC written examination comprising General Ability and Intelligence, along with General Studies, Essay and Comprehension papers.
  2. PST/PET and Medical Examination: Written-exam qualifiers undergo physical standards measurement, physical efficiency events and medical examination conducted by the designated authorities.
  3. Interview and Final Merit: Eligible candidates are called for the interview/personality test. Final selection is based on the prescribed combined marks, subject to medical fitness and document verification.
