Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Primary Level (Classes I-V): Candidates must have passed 12th (Class XII) with at least 50% marks and a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), or a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) as per NCTE norms.
  • Upper Primary Level (Classes VI-VIII): Candidates must hold a Graduate degree (BA/B.Sc/B.Com) with 50% marks and a B.Ed, or a D.El.Ed with a graduation degree in any discipline.
  • Aspiring teachers must have studied or appeared for their qualifying exams from a recognized board.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 35 years for General category candidates
  • Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates as per Uttar Pradesh government norms
  • The age is calculated as of 1st July 2025

Fees

  • General/OBC: ₹600 (Paper I & II combined)
  • SC/ST: ₹400 (Paper I & II combined)

Selection Process

The selection process for UPTET consists of the following stages:
