Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree from a university established or recognised under relevant Central or State legislation.
  • Degrees awarded by institutions recognised by the University Grants Commission or an equivalent competent authority are generally accepted.
  • Candidates applying for certain specialised Group I services may have to meet additional academic, technical or professional requirements.

Age Limit

  • Upper-age relaxation will apply to SC, ST, BC, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories under Andhra Pradesh government rules.

Fees

  • Candidates may be required to pay an application processing fee and an examination fee through the online payment facility.

Selection Process

The APPSC Group I selection procedure is expected to consist of the following stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: An objective-type screening examination used to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. Preliminary marks are generally not included in the final merit calculation.
  2. Main Written Examination: Shortlisted applicants must appear for descriptive papers covering general studies, language and other subjects prescribed in the syllabus.
  3. Interview and Document Verification: Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination will be called for an interview or personality test, followed by verification of educational, category and other eligibility documents. Medical or physical tests may also apply to designated posts.

Final selection will be based on merit, reservation rules, post preferences and successful completion of all mandatory eligibility checks.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the APPSC website at psc.ap.gov.in and open the recruitment or notifications section.
  2. Read the complete Group I Recruitment 2026 notification, including post-wise eligibility, reservation provisions and service conditions.
  3. Complete the One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) if not already registered. Candidates with an existing OTPR ID should verify that their personal and academic details are current.
  4. Log in using the OTPR credentials and select the relevant Group I application link.
  5. Enter the required information, including educational qualifications, category, address and post preferences.
  6. Upload a recent photograph, signature and other required documents in the prescribed file format and size.
  7. Pay the applicable fee through the available online payment method and retain the transaction reference number.
  8. Review all entries carefully before final submission, as corrections may only be permitted during a specified window.
  9. Download and print the submitted application form and fee receipt for examination and document-verification purposes.
