The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the Assistant Branch Officer Document Verification (DV) Schedule 2026 for candidates who qualified in the recruitment examination. The selection drive, also referred to as the Assistant Section Officer recruitment, is being conducted to fill 41 vacancies in Bihar government departments. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution.
  • Candidates were required to possess the prescribed qualification by the cut-off date stated in the recruitment notification.
  • During document verification, the original degree certificate and semester-wise or year-wise marksheets must be produced.
  • Candidates with qualifications obtained from foreign institutions should carry the relevant equivalence certificate issued by the competent authority.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 21 years.
  • Maximum age for unreserved male candidates: 37 years.
  • Maximum age for unreserved female and eligible BC/EBC candidates: 40 years.
  • Maximum age for eligible SC/ST candidates: 42 years.
  • Age relaxation is applicable to reserved categories, persons with benchmark disabilities and other eligible applicants under Bihar government rules.

Fees

  • General and other state candidates: ₹600.
  • Bihar SC/ST candidates: ₹150.
  • Female candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar: ₹150.
  • Persons with benchmark disabilities: ₹150.
  • Applicable bank, portal or biometric charges may have been payable separately at the application stage.

Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Examination: Candidates are screened through an objective-type test covering the subjects prescribed by BPSC.
  2. Main Examination: Applicants shortlisted in the preliminary examination appear for the main written examination.
  3. Document Verification and Final Selection: Qualified candidates attend DV, after which final eligibility and merit are determined subject to verification of original records.

  2. Open the latest notices or examination calendar section on the homepage.

  4. Download the schedule PDF and search for the relevant roll number using the search option.

  • Disability certificate for candidates claiming PwBD reservation.
  • Recent passport-size photographs.
  • No-objection certificate for candidates employed in government service.
  • Any name-change affidavit, marriage certificate or supporting record if the name differs across documents.

Candidates should carry both original documents and self-attested photocopies. Failure to establish eligibility may lead to cancellation of candidature.
