Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institution, subject to the conditions specified in the relevant advertisement.
- Applicants must have the prescribed proficiency in Gujarati shorthand/stenography and typing for the post concerned.
- Knowledge of computer applications and adequate command of Gujarati or Hindi may be required under Gujarat government recruitment rules.
- The qualifying shorthand speed, typing standard and other technical requirements may differ between Private Secretary and Stenographer Grade-I posts. Candidates should refer to their advertisement number for the exact standard.
Age Limit
- The minimum and maximum age limits apply as specified in the respective GPSC recruitment advertisement.
- Age is calculated on the cut-off date mentioned in the original application notice.
- Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable to eligible SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, women, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen in accordance with Gujarat government rules.
Fees

Selection Process

- Paper-II Skill Test and Final Merit: Candidates take the Gujarati stenography/typing skill test. Final selection is subject to performance, document verification, eligibility checks and applicable recruitment rules.
Candidates should note that qualifying standards may apply separately to the written paper and skill test. Merely appearing in both papers does not guarantee inclusion in the final merit list.
