The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have provided an online mock test facility for candidates preparing for the RRB NTPC Undergraduate CBT-II examination under CEN 06/2024. The recruitment drive aims to fill 3,445 vacancies for Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist and Trains Clerk posts.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or institution.
  • A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is generally required in the qualifying examination.
  • The 50% condition is not insisted upon for SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates, as well as candidates possessing qualifications higher than Class 12, subject to the recruitment rules.
  • Typing proficiency is required for Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Clerk cum Typist posts.
  • Candidates must have possessed the prescribed qualification by the eligibility cut-off date mentioned in the detailed notification.

Age Limit

  • The prescribed age range for undergraduate NTPC posts is 18 to 33 years for this recruitment cycle.
  • Age is calculated with reference to the cut-off date specified in CEN 06/2024.
  • Relaxation in the upper age limit applies to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories under government rules.
  • Date of birth recorded in the matriculation or equivalent certificate will normally be treated as final.

Fees

  • General, OBC and EWS candidates: Rs. 500.
  • SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen, female, transgender, minority and economically backward class candidates: Rs. 250.
  • Eligible candidates appearing in CBT-I receive the applicable refund after deduction of bank charges. For candidates who paid Rs. 500, Rs. 400 is refundable; the concessional fee is refundable after applicable deductions.

Selection Process

  1. Computer-Based Tests: Candidates must qualify CBT-I and CBT-II. CBT-I is used for initial shortlisting, while CBT-II evaluates candidates at the next stage based on the prescribed syllabus and examination pattern.
  2. Skill Test, where applicable: Candidates seeking Junior Clerk cum Typist or Accounts Clerk cum Typist posts must qualify the prescribed typing skill test. The requirement does not apply to posts for which no typing test is specified.
  3. Document Verification and Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates undergo verification of original certificates followed by the railway medical fitness examination. Final appointment depends on merit, post preference, vacancy availability and medical suitability.

  1. Visit the official Indian Railways website or the regional RRB portal through which the application was submitted.
  2. Open the CEN 06/2024 – NTPC Undergraduate section on the homepage.
  3. Select the link titled CBT-II Mock Test, practice test or candidate login, as displayed by the concerned RRB.
  4. Read the instructions covering question navigation, marking answers, review options, timer display and final submission.
  5. Use the mock credentials supplied on the practice page, if required, and start the test. The mock facility generally does not require the candidate’s personal registration password.
  6. Separately monitor the regional portal for the exam-city slip and e-call letter. Verify the examination date, shift, reporting time and centre address before travelling.
  7. Carry a printed admit card, original photo identity proof and any other document specified in the examination instructions.

Candidates should rely only on official RRB portals. Mock tests do not generate scores that are considered during recruitment, and completing the practice test is not a substitute for downloading the CBT-II admit card.
